Group Financial Controller

Summary or the role: Reporting into Group CFO with a dotted line to the individual company CEO/MDs, the Group Financial Controller is responsible for running the day-to-day finance function at group level. This will include managing the financial and management reporting, the audit process, managing the finance team, and providing support to the individual company CEO/MDs.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial reporting and management of information

  • Produce operational and financial management information, ensuring broad understanding of financial and operational performance across the business
  • Work closely with the individual company CEO/MDs to improve operational performance and best practise with required reporting, analysis of key drivers, maximising group synergy opportunities and end-to-end margin analysis
  • Support the CFO and individual company CEO/MDs to assess new income opportunities, supporting the development of strategic plans and budget
  • Identify any financial risks of the Commercial strategy and recommend effective solutions to mitigate those risks
  • Maintain and improve a healthy balance sheet and carefully control all cash flow forecasts, specifically debtors and creditors
  • Oversee timely submission against all HMRC deadlines for Corporation Tax, VAT Returns, PSA, P11D etc.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and completion of the Statutory Accounts for each company within the group
  • Oversee Accounts Receivable across the group to ensure all invoices are issued and paid in a compliant manner per terms detailed in client contracts and internal accounting controls
  • Oversee Accounts Payable across the group to ensure that all supplier invoices are processed, verified and reconciled per internal accounting controls

The ideal candidate should possess exceptional numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, be detail-oriented and be well-versed in accounting principles. You will play a big role in our growth and success. The goal is to contribute to the financial strategy of the business and be instrumental in the development of internal control policies and procedures.

 What we're looking for

  • A qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
  • Finance Manager or Finance Controller within a high growth business – ideally healthcare
  • Managed and understand international trade, especially between the UK, EU and USA
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting and tax
  • Experience of managing an audit
  • An understanding of Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) metrics
  • Multinational start-up experience would be an advantage
  • Exceptional attention to detail, making sure that quality and standards are met
  • Advanced knowledge of excel (e.g. v lookups, pivot tables etc)
